What Are A Catnapper Recliner Parts? [Diagrams Included]
Don’t you understand how the catnapper recliner works? This article explains the catnapper recliner parts diagram.
A catnapper recliner is an excellent piece of furniture in your home. Not only is it comfortable, but it can also be stylish. If you’re in the market for a new catnapper recliner, or if you need to replace some parts on your current one, you may be wondering what the parts diagram looks like.
Well, we’ve got good news for you! We’ve put together a diagram of the most common catnapper recliner parts. This should help you figure out which part you need to replace and how to go about doing it. So, whether you’re looking to buy a new recliner or want to fix up your old one, this diagram will come in handy.
Table of Contents
Backrest
The backrest is one of the most important parts of a catnapper recliner, and it provides support for your back and helps keep you feel comfortable. I recommend you get some extra pillows if you need an extra level of softness.
Besides, the backrest is one of the biggest pieces of recliner that uses some upholstery. It can be polyester, leather, or any other material. Thus, I recommend you read my article about different types of upholstery. This material will help you increase your knowledge in this field. Besides, there is an article about how to clean an armchair using different detergents. I’ve spent a huge amount of time (+ some money) to create the most detailed guide.

Footrest
The footrest is another important part of a catnapper recliner. It helps keep your feet comfortable and supports your legs while you’re reclining. The footrest is typically made of metal or hard plastic, and you can easily attach and detach it from the rest of the chair.
Most affordable models tend not to include a footrest, and however, you can easily purchase one on websites like Amazon or eBay. Additionally, your local recliner supplier should have a full stock of footrests for a recliner. Read my previous article about how to assemble a recliner if you need some help with installing a footrest.
Reclining Mechanism
The reclining mechanism is what allows you to recline in your catnapper recliner. It’s a piece of hardware that attaches to the backrest and footrest and allows them to move back and forth. There are two most popular reclining mechanisms: power and manual.
The power mechanism has a little electrical motor that helps to recline the model. It is a little more expensive than the alternative, but I highly encourage you to purchase a model with this mechanism if you have the funds.
On the other hand, manual recliners are a little harder to operate since you need to use your body weight and muscles to recline. I don’t recommend buying this type for old people. Check out my previous article if you need some additional information on this topic.

Armrest
The armrest is another important part of a catnapper recliner, and it provides support for your arms and helps keep you comfortable while you’re reclining. The armrest can be made of different materials, including leather, polyester, or wood. It’s also important to clean it regularly to prevent dirt and dust from building up.
Besides, the armrests are not ideal, and it tends to break from time to time. Please read my article on how to fix the basic armrest malfunctions. There I discuss what instruments you need and how to do it even if you are a complete beginner.
Seat Cushion
The seat cushion is the part of the chair that you sit on. It’s typically made of foam or some other type of cushioning material. It’s important to keep the seat cushion clean, so it doesn’t start to smell bad or become stained. You can clean it using a vacuum or a mild detergent.
Base
The base is the part of the chair that sits on the ground. It’s typically made of wood, metal, or plastic. The base supports the rest of the chair and helps keep it stable. It’s also essential to choose a floor compatible with your flooring so it doesn’t scratch or damage it.
FAQ
In this section, I want to answer some most frequently asked questions about catnapper recliner parts.

Hi,
I have a model 5043 Catnapper manual recliner. It is one of the Big & Tall heavy duty rocker recliners.
I am looking for the diagram or picture showing spring placement. The shorter spring with the long straight hook broke on one side without me being aware and then the other side. Jackson/Catnapper provided the springs a year ago, but would not provide any assistance at all with diagrams, phone support, etc. and I could never figure out where they went. No wear marks. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Wish I would have known about you folks then. Thank you, Bill

I need the longer spring for holding the foot rest in place on my chair. #78101. I saw one that looked like it that was 72111 but there was no place to order on that site. It has a cutout on the end of each of the 6 blades. I said the longer spring but it has one on each side, the outer ones. Half of the curved hook on one end broke on mine just after I got it and I contacted the store here in Arkansas City Kansas several times. They said a repair person would come fix it. I stopped several times. Finally a guy stopped at the house and left a spring half the size I needed. I used wire to extend the length so I could use it but it doesn’t keep the foot rest down when I set down. I set and the foot rest flies up by itself.
Can you help?
Thank you,
Bill Smith
