Most recliners double as a regular chair and can recline when you press a button or pull a lever. You turn a chair into a recliner by using the mechanism already inbuilt into the chair and pushing back on the back rest so that it is in the angle you want.
Typically, it will be slanted, giving more room for your back and body to lean back on the chair like on a bed. It takes less than a minute to adjust to this position from the upright angle. However, the speed and smoothness of this transition can depend on what kind of chair you have and what type of mechanism it uses.
Different ways of reclining chairs:
There are no levers for this kind of power recliner. You have to lean back, and the chair will automatically adjust the potion depending on your weight.
Once you sit down on manual recliner, you can lean back on your chair and pull a slider or lever, depending on your model, and the back will start to move with your body weight. You can drag the lever again to lock the position in place.
Step by step on how to turn a chair into a recliner:
Take your chair and place it in front of a wall so that you can take a seat and lean back on your chair.
Put one of your legs under the chair’s seat and your other leg outside the chair to support your body as you lean back on the chair.
Start from the upright position and lean back on the chair by using your arms to press against it. Do so until your body is in a reclining position.
Repeat the process until you find a comfortable position. You can also seek help from someone to adjust to your desired position.
